BURIED IN TUCSON
BURIED IN TUCSON is a dramatic feature film written, produced and directed by Jeff Gallea. The film was completed with money from a leather belt company in Los Angeles in 2006. The cast was acquired from an ad placed in Dramalogue for a non-union two week shoot in Southern Arizona. The film locations were a rental house, the streets of Tucson and the Saguaro National Park. The budget including buying a super 16mm camera package, and relocating to Tucson from Boston . Re-editing in 2006 with Alex Safdie came in under budget leaving funds to begin preproduction on his second feature film project BELT SLAVE.
The feature film BURIED IN TUCSON is the simplified version of an action-packed feature script Jeff wrote called TUCSON BUZZKILL. The script called for so much action and stunts that it was decided if a low budget version of the script was to be film, the best idea would be to completely rewrite the script with a different premise and less action.
TUCSON BUZZKILL was written in 1995, BURIED IN TUCSON was written in 1996, and production for filming began in 1997.
Major complications after editing forced Jeff to shelve the project for 10 years. In 2007 the negatives were dusted off, transfered to modern computers and a final version was created. This new version with slide-guitar score hit the film festival circuit in 2007 and the awards started to come in. BURIED IN TUCSON is currently distributed in Europe by ITN Distribution.
