BELT SLAVE - written & directed by Jeff Gallea - synopsis:

jinx and lucy

A poetically perverse dramatic comedy set in Los Angeles at the edge of night...
Jinx can’t control his sex drive. He works off debt in a leather belt shop with sexy Mika and the Belt Boss till the three become involved. Jinx has become a slave to his desires and his job. His days blend into night. On his motorcycle he watches as the darkness brings out the strange ones... Ken Kenny and his hollow plastic leg, the Lady In White, Burger Todd, Suzie Q in her skin tight dress, Tommy B the bartender from hell, French Elsa, faux-hawk Curly, Pop Song the ladder climber, Lucy Longhair... they dance on white powder. Spend what they earn. Crazy females tangle with Jinx. Belt Boss moves into a tent on the roof to hide his sorrow when Mika and Jinx go over the edge. Maybe Jinx was better off broke? The city bakes. The night time motorcycle rides add clarity. Is someone spying in the bathroom? Can a smokey girl with soulful eyes show Jinx a better path? In a dusty leather shop everyone searches for their own brand of love.

BURIED IN TUCSON

BURIED IN TUCSON is a dramatic feature film written, produced and directed by Jeff Gallea. The film was completed with money from a leather belt company in Los Angeles in 2006. The cast was acquired from an ad placed in Dramalogue for a non-union two week shoot in Southern Arizona. The film locations were a rental house, the streets of Tucson and the Saguaro National Park. The budget including buying a super 16mm camera package, and relocating to Tucson from Boston . Re-editing in 2006 with Alex Safdie came in under budget leaving funds to begin preproduction on his second feature film project BELT SLAVE.

The feature film BURIED IN TUCSON is the simplified version of an action-packed feature script Jeff wrote called TUCSON BUZZKILL. The script called for so much action and stunts that it was decided if a low budget version of the script was to be film, the best idea would be to completely rewrite the script with a different premise and less action.

TUCSON BUZZKILL was written in 1995, BURIED IN TUCSON was written in 1996, and production for filming began in 1997.
Major complications after editing forced Jeff to shelve the project for 10 years. In 2007 the negatives were dusted off, transfered to modern computers and a final version was created. This new version with slide-guitar score hit the film festival circuit in 2007 and the awards started to come in. BURIED IN TUCSON is currently distributed in Europe by ITN Distribution.
